Rangers FC manager Michael Beale has been sacked by the Scottish club.
The English gaffer has been under fire in the last few weeks for the club’s underwhelming start to the season.
Following a 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen in the Scottish championship on Saturday, the Gers are now seven points adrift of bitter rivals Celtic in the title race.
Beale was appointed as Rangers FC head coach in November 2022 after the club parted ways with Dutchman Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
In 42 games at the club, Beale secured 30 wins, 4 stalemates, and suffered 8 losses. The closest he came to winning silverware was the 2022–23 Scottish League Cup final, in which he lost to Celtic.
Beale’s Rangers FC was a very prolific side in front of goal, having scored 90 goals during his tenure. The manager had a plethora of reliable goal-scorers to win him games.
However, prior to his sacking, he was chastised by fans, including some of the club’s legends, for allowing players like Sakala to leave when they were at their peak.
Meanwhile, Bolanews reveals the list of five players who scored the most goals for Beale while he was at Rangers FC.
5. Todd Cantwell: 6 goals
The former Premier League sensation has been a revelation under Michael Beale since signing from Norwich FC for €1.71 million. With six goals and as many assists, Cantwell was a key figure during Beale’s tenure.
4. Malik Tillman: 8 goals
Tillman did not disappoint during his 12-month loan spell in Scotland from Bavarian giants FC Bayern Munich. The youngster registered eight goals in only 19 appearances under Michael Beale.
3. Alfredo Morelos: 9 goals
It was under the stewardship of Beale that the former Colombian international etched his name into the history books by becoming Rangers all-time top scorer. He smashed Kris Boyd’s record of 121 goals for the Gers.
2. Fashion Sakala: 11 goals
Excluding penalties, no player scored more goals under Michael Beale than Fashion Sakala. The Zambian winger registered 11 goals and 7 assists in 27 outings. Beale will most likely regret his decision to encourage Sakala to accept the lucrative deal to Saudi Arabia.
1. James Tavernier: 14 goals
The Gers club captain leads the pack in terms of goalscoring for Michael Beale’s Rangers. His efficiency from the penalty spot saw the right-back reach his 50th club goal from 12 yards under Beale.
