Kafue Eagles Football Club, caretaker coach, Zimiseleni Moyo, has opened up about the emotional rollercoaster he experienced after returning to Ndola last weekend.
Eagles drew 0-0 against Jumulo Football Club in a Week 10 of the Zambian second tier, National League match and remain in 17th position with 7 points from nine matches.
Moyo joined Zesco United in 2011 and played for the Ndola side until 2015. He also played for Zanaco Football Club and won the league titles with the two top sides.
In an exclusive interview, Moyo revealed that Ndola remains a special place to him, as Zesco United gave him the first opportunity in Zambia.
Moyo described his return to Ndola Wanderes Ground with Kafue Eagles as emotional.
“We can turn the fortunes of the team”- Moyo.
Moyo, was the first Zimbabwean player to feature in the Zambian Premier League, after signing for the Ndola side.
“Ndola is a special place for me. I used the ground in 2010 when we’re just doing our early morning workout before the game,” Moyo said.
He previously used Ndola Wanderers Ground for his personal training on a number of occasions.
“So it was quite an emotional one because I remember the first day; there used to be a man, Mr. Sakala, but he’s late now. He used to drive me there, picking me up from Savoy to that same ground, and I would do some laps and do some personal training. And, with my history in ZESCO, you know, Ndola will always be my special place and how Zesco did so much for me, especially for my career, where they took me from and where they put me,” he added.
Moyo adds that it is not new experience to be in charge of the team.
“The match against Jumulo was a tricky because, they have been having a good run in the league, compared to us“
He is aware of how tough the task will be to grind out the good results in the next matches in which they will also come up against Trident.
“We may not be in a good position, but we have been having some good games and playing some good football. Just hoping that we can turn the fortunes of the team, and we will do better,” he concluded.
