Racheal Kundananji has said being at the same club with her compatriot Grace Chanda is helping her find it easy to settle in Spain at Madrid CFF which signed both of them from SD Eibar and Bilk Kazgurt respectively, at the start of this season.
Kundananji told BOLA NEWS that she is settling in well at her new club and that they are bonding so well with her compatriot Chanda who tipped her to score last week when she was making her second appearance for the Spanish club.
We encourage each other and lift one another’s spirits and its easy for us to communicate during training and games because we have come a long way and understand each other well.
While on the bench I was so anxious to go in because I had a feeling I would score, we were even chatting with Grace on the bench and I told her when I go in, I will score and she said I shouldn’t fail to score,
She said.
Kundananji scored a brace in a space of five minutes for the Madrid CFF side that recorded a 3-1 victory over Levante las Planas FC in the Spanish Primera Division after coming off from the bench in the 46th minute to find the back of the net in the 58th and 63rd minutes and cancel Levante’s 1-0 lead while Chanda made her debut for the club as a late substitute when she was introduced in the 74th minute.
Both Kundananji and Chanda were named in Coach Bruce Mwape’s squad to face the Netherlands in a friendly match slated for 6th October 2022 as the Copper Queens begin to prepare for the FIFA Women’s World Cup which is set to be hosted in Australia and New Zealand next year.
Coach Mwape will hope the two will replicate their club form to the National team as the Copper Queens will be looking forward to making their historical debut at the biggest global Women’s football showpiece.
