Winford Kashiya, a football consultant has called for increased investment in scouting tournaments to expose young Zambians to European clubs.
Speaking in an interview with Bola News, Kashiya said Zambia needs to create more opportunities for promising players.
“We need more scouting tournaments to expose most of our young promising players to bigger opportunities through scouting,” Kashiya said.
“One of the ways to improve our national team is by having a good pool of players in good leagues in Europe.”
Kashiya explained that his agency, Win Sports Agency, has been actively organizing scouting events since 2023.
Fifa agent will be in attendance.
The agency previously hosted German-based agency SPOCS in 2023. In 2024 the agency partnered with X-One Agency and Kafue Celtics FC for another scouting program.
“In 2025 we hosted Austrian club SK Rapid’s African scout Julian Lörinczi, and one Zambian under-17 striker has already gone for trials in Austria,” Kashiya said.
The Copperbelt province will host this year’s edition, for the first time.
“This June, X-One is coming back to Zambia, and we have decided to take this to the Copperbelt for the very first time because we have been doing everything in Lusaka,” he said.
“Copperbelt is a footballing province in Zambia, and for us at Win Sports Agency, we have decided to do this in Kopala.”
Navjot Singh, the chief executive officer of X-One Agency and a FIFA-licensed agent from Norway will attend the tournament.
Kashiya believes such initiatives are crucial in giving young Zambian players international exposure.
