Tottenham have submitted a verbal opening proposal for Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg.

Fabrizio Romano understands that there are no issues on personal terms and both parties are close on the contract details.

Ange Postecoglou is seeking to bolster his defence and Van de Ven is a centre-back who can also play on the left side.

The 22 year old impressed in the Bundesliga last season. He featured in all but one of Wolfsburg’s league games as they narrowly missed out on European qualification.
