Zambian midfielder Larry Bwalya scored his first goal for AmaZulu Football club in the South African DSTV Premiership to help his side beat Stellenbosch 1-0 on Sunday.

Bwalya who was making his sixth appearance for Amazulu scored a screamer from long range to beat Sage Stephens in the 30th minute and put the home team in the lead with a goal which eventually was the winner.

His goal ensured AmaZulu moved into 7th position with 17 points on the log standings having only won four games, drawn five and lost four in their last 13 matches.

Bwalya joined the South African side in July 2022 on a two-years deal from Tanzanian giants Simba SC but had a slow start to the season after going five matches without scoring or assisting.

While at Simba, the 27-year-old Zambian international helped his team reach the quarter-finals of the 2021/22 CAF Champions League and won the Tanzanian Premier league.

He featured nine times for the Tanzanian outfits in the CAF Champions League where he scored two goals in the 2021/22 campaign.

Bwalya who also made three appearances in the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup Qualifiers with the Zambia National team will now look to seal a place in the Amazulu starting eleven and score more goals in the South Africa League.
