Sabobo reveals why he thinks Zambia will qualify for AFCON

The youngster has reemphasized his target is to help the young Chipolopolo boys qualify for the 2023 U-20 Egypt AFCON tomorrow.

Zambian youngster Joseph “sabobo” Banda has said the young Chipolopolo are ready to take on Angola tomorrow when they clash in the semifinals of the 2022 COSAFA under-20 Cup which is also being used as a qualifier for the 2023 Egypt U-23 Africa Cup of nations(AFCON).

The midfielder who earlier this year attended trials at Barcelona FC in Spain is confident he can help the team secure a place in the final and book their ticket for the junior AFCON.

He also thinks the match will not be a walkover as the Angolans are also a tough opponent therefore he is anticipating the match to be harder.

“Tomorrow’s game will be harder than the games we have previously played but we have prepared adequately,” he said .

“My experience at the under-17 level will help me and the team to qualify for the final. Our main target is to qualify for the AFCON.”

Sabobo has been a star for the Zambia U-17 national team at last two COSAFA tournaments and coach Chisi Mbewe will be hoping the the 16-year-old midfielder comes to the party tomorrow help Zambia qualify for AFCON.

Th Zambia U-20 national team who are the 11 times winners of the COSAFA Cup, will be looking to beat Angola tomorrow and return to the Africa cup for the first time since the class of 2017 won the junior continental AFCON on home in 2017.
