Daka Celebrates Zambia U17 AFCON Qualification After Win Over South Africa

Going into the final, Zambia are favourites if previous results at this tournament are anything to go by.

The junior Chipolopolo’s performances at the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) U– 17 Championship have tickled the fancy of Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka.

Ian Bakala’s boy on Wednesday came from behind to beat South Africa 2 – 1 in an eventful semi-final.

The victory, also meant the team had qualified to the Africa Cup of Nations. The boys have given it their all.

South Africa was their biggest test and the passed with flying colours. With qualification secured, they will now be looking to defend the title.

Daka, a former U– 17 captain, now on the books of English Premier League side Leicester City has encouraged the team to go for the title.

“Boys AfCON U17 sealed, congratulations boys now let’s go for gold and finish strong,” Daka posted on his social media pages.

The junior Chipolopolo will face Angola in the final tomorrow.

Going into the final, Zambia are clear favourites if previous results at this tournament are anything to go by.

Zambia are on song at the tournament with a run of four wins in four matches.
