Zambian midfielder Gamphani Lungu delivered an outstanding performance for SuperSport United, scoring a goal and providing an assist in their dominant 4-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the South African Premier Soccer League. This victory marks a significant result for SuperSport United, as they continue their fight for a higher position in the league standings.

Other scorers for SuperSport United were Samir Nurkovic and Christian Saile who both scored against their former club and Siphesihle Ndlovu while Kaizer Chiefs got their consolation goal through Makabi Lilepo.

Lungu has had limited game time this season, starting only six times; however, this marks his first goal and assist in the current campaign. His individual brilliance in the match against Kaizer Chiefs showcased his ability to make an impact when it matters most. The win lifted SuperSport United to 12th place in the league table, with 18 matches played so far.

“Thrilled to have made an impact with both a goal and an assist! Great work from the team!” Lungu wrote on his Facebook page after the game.

The 26-year-old has featured in 13 league matches. SuperSport United’s coach Gavin Hunt will undoubtedly be encouraged by his contributions in this key victory, and fans will be hoping to see more of his dazzling performances as the season progresses.

His remarkable display against Kaizer Chiefs is bound to increase his chances of making a return to the Zambian national team. The midfielder was left out of Zambia’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) last year despite being included in the provisional squad, but with his current form, he will be hoping for a recall ahead of future international fixtures.
