Joshua Mutale‘s return from injury was the stuff of dreams, as he scored a goal and provided an assist for Simba SC, who walloped Kilimanjaro Wonders 6-0 in the Federation Cup. Before his injury, the playmaker was thrown under the bus by a section of Simba fans, with some demanding his exit due to subpar performances.

In England, Patson Daka made a 13-minute cameo off the bench in Leicester City’s astonishing 2-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur.

Lubambo Musonda, Lameck Banda edge closer to return

Chipolopolo skipper Lubambo Musonda watched his side, 1. FC Magdeburg, claim a point in their bid to get promoted to the German Bundesliga. He is expected to be back on the pitch in February, as is compatriot Lameck Banda, who missed US Lecce’s 4-0 loss to Inter Milan in the Serie A.

Kingstone Mutandwa completed Cagliari Calcio’s 2-0 defeat at Torino on the substitute bench. On the other hand, Joseph Liteta played a full match for Cagliari U20 in the Primavera.

In Spain, new signing Twizard Mulenga watched fellow Kafue Celtics product Peter Chikola from the dugout as the latter started for Cadiz B in the Segunda Federacion. Neither Gift Siame nor Aaron Mbemba Phiri was available for Leganes U19 and Cadiz U19, respectively, in the youth league.

Kings Kangwa gets important win, Emmanuel Banda starts

Kings Kangwa helped Hapoel Be’er Sheva extend their lead in the Israeli topflight to six points after a 1-0 win over Maccabi Petah Tikva. Songa Chipyoka and Gift Mphande started for their respective sides in Liga Leumit while Emmanuel Banda was in Al Tai’s starting XI in the Saudi First Division.

Miguel Chaiwa was an unfielded substitute for BSC Young Boys on Saturday. His side registered a barren stalemate with Grasshoppers Club Zürich.

Swiss side FC Zürich and Scottish outfit Ayr United were without Joseph Sabobo Banda and Frankie Musonda, respectively.

Kelvin Kampamba moves to Libya’s capital

Kelvin Kampamba skipped Al Nasr SC’s encounter against Al Soqour. This was because he was completing his transfer to Al-Madina in Group 4 of the Libyan Premier League. In Tanzania, Young Africans SC rested Clatous Chama and Kennedy Musonda in a Federation Cup assignment against Copco FC.

Elsewhere, Benson Sakala featured for Mlada Boleslav and Golden Mafwenta started for Metalist 1925 in club friendlies.
