With the international break wrapped up, several Zambian players were back in action for their respective clubs across the weekend.

BolaNews lifts the curtain on some notable performances of Zambian players in men’s and women’s football, respectively.

Kings Kangwa magic continues in Israel, Clatous Chama punishes Simba.

Chipolopolo playmaker Kings Kangwa racked up a goal and two assists in Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s 5-2 drubbing of Maccabi Petah Tikva.

Clatous Chama.

Meanwhile, Clatous Chama‘s late freekick attempt led to the goal that condemned his former side Simba SC to a 1-0 defeat against Yanga SC. Kennedy Musonda, like Chama, came off the bench in the Kariakoo derby, while Joshua Mutale started the match.

Prisca Chilufya bags a hat-trick of assists, Mapepa scores again.

Prisca Chilufya was on hand to set up all three goals for FC Juarez as they beat UANL Tigres 3-1 and qualified for the Torneo Apertura playoffs. She has contributed to six goals in her last three matches for Juarez.

For the second match in succession, Xiomara Mapepa scored within a few minutes of coming on as a halftime substitute for Krylya Sovetov in the Russian women’s top flight.

Obino Chisala comes up clutch in Mozambique, Kundananji takes Bay FC closer to NWSL playoff dream.

Obino Chisala stepped up to the plate for Costa do Sol, scoring an equalizer against the Black Bulls in Taça de Mozambiçue quarterfinals, helping the team qualify for the next round.

Racheal Kundananji‘s assist saw Bay FC move one step closer to the NWSL playoffs as they beat NC Courage 1-0 on Sunday morning.

The 2024 NWSL expansion side will face Barbra Banda‘s Orlando Pride in the quarterfinals if they finish 8th. The Pride suffered their second defeat in a row, losing 3-1 to NJ/NY Gotham with Barbra Banda winning a penalty.

Stopilla Sunzu scores goal in China, Ricky Chanda finds back of the net in Lithuania.

Veteran Chipolopolo defender Stopilla Sunzu scored his first goal for Changchun Yatai in their emphatic 4-0 win against Qingdao West Coast. Meanwhile, Zambian U20 defender Ricky Chanda made the scoresheet as FK Riteriai thrashed FK Babrungus 3-0.

Lameck Banda returns from injury.

After missing the International break due to injury, Lameck Banda returned to the pitch on Sunday. Unfortunately, US Lecce lost 6-0 to Fiorentina.

Meanwhile, Edward Chilufya, Miguel Chaiwa, and Lubambo Musonda did not feature at the weekend. They are all still recuperating from their injuries.

Frankie Musonda played 90 minutes for Ayr United. Benson Sakala, and Francisco Mwepu featured as late substitutes, while Joseph Sabobo and Kingston Mutandwa were not fielded this weekend.
