Fashion Sakala Jr was unplayable for Al Fayha, finding the back of the net and registering an assist in a 5-0 drubbing of Al Akhdood in the Saudi Pro League. After playing a clever give-and-go with his teammate, Sakala thumped the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 3-0, after which he teed up Jason for a fourth.

The winger has contributed to 11 goals in his last 11 games, scoring nine and setting up two.

Elsewhere, Patson Daka broke his scoring duck, netting his first goal in four starts under new gaffer Gary Rowett. He volleyed Leicester City into the lead during a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town in the Championship.

Chama scores critical goal, Liteta earns back-to-back Serie A starts

In Tanzania, Clatous Chama scored his first goal since returning to Simba SC. With the spectacular effort in the 77th minute, the midfielder sealed a 2-0 win over B19 FC in the Federation Cup. Over to Germany, Lubambo Musonda played the second half of 1. FC Magdeburg’s 1-0 loss to Eversburg in the Bundesliga II.

Joseph Liteta started his second consecutive match in the Italian Serie A, making a good account of himself in the middle of the park as Cagliari lost 2-1 to Como. In contrast, Lameck Banda was on the winning team during the weekend, helping US Lecce beat Cremonese 2-1 with an industrious 77-minute display.

Mutandwa goal drought continues; Edward Chilufya’s Midtjylland reach cup final

Kingstone Mutandwa is yet to score a goal for SV Ried this year. The forward extended his dry spell to four successive league matches following a 2-0 defeat against Austria Wien. In the Austrian second tier, Jack Lahne played 69 minutes as Austria Lustenau fell 3-0 to First Vienna.

Edward Chilufya made a 13-minute cameo during a 1-1 draw between Midtjylland and AGF in the Oddset Pokalen semifinals. Chilufya’s side secured a 2-1 aggregate victory to reach the final. Meanwhile, Benson Sakala played the entirety of Bohemians Praha’s barren stalemate with Slovan Liberec in the Czech First League.

In Scotland, Chanka Zimba was a late substitute for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who thrashed Montrose FC 3-1 in League One. Elsewhere, Joshua Mutale‘s outing vs Al Bukayriyah lasted just 35 minutes, as he was subbed off by Al Adalah in the Saudi First Division.

Toaster Nsabata and Sekhukhune exit Nedbank Cup, Andrew Phiri makes debut in Zimbabwe

Toaster Nsabata remained on the bench during Sekhukhune United’s Nedbank Cup quarterfinal fixture with Milford, which they lost on penalties. In the United Arab Emirates, Enock Sakala Jr. and Emmanuel Mutale both made the starting XI for Gulf United in the second tier.

Andrew Phiri officially made his debut for Hardrock FC in the Zimbabwean topflight during a 0-0 draw with Scottland FC, while Chitoshi Chinga started Caps United FC’s 2-1 win over Agama FC.

Ricky Chanda started in defence, while Benjamin Chisala appeared in the 61st minute as newly promoted Nomme United lost 3-0 to Estonian champions FC Flora in a season opener. And Rodrick Kabwe was in action for Al Ramadi in the Iraqi Premier Division as they drew 1-1 with Afak.
