The forward was born on October 9, 2023, in the Zambian town of Chingola, to parents Nathtali Daka and Josephine Shelemu.
Daka kicked off his career with the academy team of the Kafue Celtics back in 2007 before turning professional in 2014.
Now at English club Leicester City, the Zambian marksman celebrated his 25th birthday on Monday.

Austrian Bundesliga Golden Boot
There was no stopping Patson Daka during the 2020–21 campaign, as the Chipolopolo striker comfortably claimed the Austrian League Golden Boot with 27 goals in 28 games. This saw the forward become the first Zambian player to top the scoring charts in a European league since Mwape Miti for Danish outfit Odense in 2003–04.
UEFA Europa League Poker
Back in 2021, Daka smashed the record for the fastest hat-trick in UEFA Europa League history during Leicester City’s 4-2 win over Spartak Moskva.
The striker netted three of his four goals in the space of only nine minutes. Two years down the line, he still remains the English club’s all-time top scorer in European competitions with six goals.
2017 CAF Youth Player of the Year
After inspiring the U-20 Zambian men’s national team to the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations title, Daka was honored with the CAF Youth Player of the Year in 2017. No player scored more goals in the competition than the Zambian striker.
Kitwe Derby Heroics
The Kitwe Derby, a clash between heavyweights Nkana FC and Power Dynamos FC, is one of the most anticipated matches in the Zambian Super League. In 2016, Daka had the privilege of scoring the winning goal for Power Dynamos against bitter rivals Nkana.

Zambia’s eight-year absence from the Africa Cup of Nations was finally brought to an end courtesy of Patson Daka and co.

First Zambian to score in the Premier League
Daka announced his arrival in the Premier League with a late goal in Leicester City’s 4-2 win over Manchester United. He became the first Zambian player to score a goal in the history of the English top flight.
