The South African Premier Soccer League’s Sekhukhune United has released Toaster Nsabata, the Chipolopolo Boys’ first choice shot stopper.
The former Zanaco goalkeeper joined the PSL side in 2021 from Zambian MTN Super League side Zesco United.
Nsabata had an impressive season in his first season and established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper for the PSL side.
However, during the just ended season he only managed to make nine appearances, in which he kept two clean sheets.
He is reported as one of the players released by the PSL squad, according to sources close to the player and Chipolopolo Die Hards.
Despite this, Nsabata is among the 29 players that Chipolopolo boys coach Avram Grant has called up for a must-win match against Ivory Coast on June 17, 2023.
Zambia needs a point to qualify.
The Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, with a seating capacity of 48,900, will host the 2023 Afcon group H qualifying game.
