Zambian midfielder Prince Mumba has been released by Croatian club NK Istra 1961 four months after joining them on a one-year loan deal.
Mumba joined NK Istra from Zambian Super League club Kabwe Warriors ahead of the start of the season in July.
The 24-year-old played only 10 games for NK Istra and had one assist with no goal.
NK Istra announced on Tuesday night that Mumba was no longer a player for them, but did not explain why.
“Prince Mumba is no longer a player of Istra 1961. We want to thank Prince for every contribution to the team and the positive attitude he has always carried with him! Prince good luck in new challenges, both on and off the field,” read the club statement.

Mumba follows in the footsteps of his compatriot Ailbert Kangwanda, who struggled in Croatia and returned home to join defending champions Red Arrows.
Kangwanda, the former Kafue Celtic player, signed a two-year contract with Croatian club HNK Gorica in August last year, with an option to extend for another year, but said he failed to adapt and left four months later.

Meanwhile, many Zambians took to the NK Istra 1961 Facebook page to express their feelings about Mumba’s contract termination.
Michelo Chizombe wrote, “Goodbye to this page” while Lucas M Kangwa also said, “Time yakusha chi the page as Zambian.”
Another Facebook user, ՙՙ ՙՙ ՙՙ ՙՙ, wrote, “And he goes back with his 21K followers, we found this page at 2K followers when Prince joined the club. Bye”
Might Mbelenga Lucas said, “Time yakusha chi page ichi. Welcome back home prince kabwe warriors is waiting for u.”
Legoni Lax also wrote, ” We made this ka page big. We are unfollowing you atase. Remain with your tuma followers. Kwati pali na club.”
