Zambian striker Kingstone Mutandwa has described his move to Swiss top-flight side Servette FC as a good project as he targets goals and a strong campaign with the club.
The 23-year-old has joined Servette on loan from Italian side Cagliari Calcio, with the Swiss club holding an option to make the move permanent.
Mutandwa arrives in Switzerland following an impressive loan spell with Austrian side SV Ried last season, where he made 32 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing three assists.
Speaking to Servette’s media, Mutandwa said he was delighted to join the club and believes the move will benefit both himself and the team.
“I’m happy to be here. I play striker; I’m fast and physical. Servette is a good club, and I believe it’s a good project for the team and for myself as well,” he said.
The Zambian forward said his immediate objective is to contribute to the team with his abilities while finding the back of the net regularly.
“My goals for this season are to give everything for the team, to help the team with the abilities I have, and, of course, to score goals,” Mutandwa said.
Mutandwa, who has been seeking to establish himself at a higher level following his development in Italy and Austria, is now set for a new challenge in the Swiss Super League.
He said he was eager to get started and meet the club’s supporters at the stadium.
“I can’t wait to meet you, I can’t wait to see you guys in the stadium, and I can’t wait to start,” he said.
