Following a 2-1 loss to Morocco on Friday, the Chipolopolo Boys have regrouped in Ndola ahead of their second game of the month against Tanzania in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, which will be played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium tomorrow.

The two teams last met in the group stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in San Pedro, Ivory Coast, where they drew 0-0.

Young African SC striker Kennedy Musonda stated that the team has studied their opponents and knows what to expect.

“Tanzania is a team we faced during the Afcon, so we know what to expect. I think we know what to do and what not to do so it’s all about correcting our mistakes and working on our strengths. But otherwise, it’s a game in which we can get maximum points,” Musonda said.

Musonda ready to hurt employers

Musonda believes facing a country where he plays his club football will be an advantage for the team.

“Of course I have a few workmates who are with the national team and where inputs are needed and where I think the coaches need maybe advice on how certain players behave or play, I think it’s a team sport so we put our heads together,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Avram Grant told a press briefing today that Tanzania is a good side but he wants his team to aim for a win tomorrow.

“We know it is a very important game for us because we want to stay in the picture against a very good opponent. You saw what they did at AFCON against us and against Congo, including in the qualifiers,” he said.

“They played well with a lot of intensity but we need to think about us and we want to win this game.”
