State Cup secured, eyes on Europe: Kangwa’s next move looms.

Zambian international midfielder Kings Kangwa has concluded a successful season in Israel by lifting the State Cup with Hapoel Be’er Sheva following the team’s 2 – 0 win over Beitar Jerusalem on Thursday night.

This marks Be’er Sheva’s fourth State Cup title in the club’s history, adding to previous triumphs in 1997, 2020, and 2022.

Kangwa enjoyed a standout campaign, earning the title of Best Foreign Player in the Israeli Premier League earlier this week and also securing a spot in the league’s Best XI.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who has now won five trophies in Europe, made 41 appearances across all competitions this season, the highest number of games he has played in a single season since leaving Zambia.

Kangwa also recorded a career-best 14 goals and provided 9 assists, underlining his key role in Be’er Sheva’s campaign.

Kangwa keen to test himself a higher level

With the season now concluded, Kangwa is expected to leave the Israeli club. BolaNews understands that the player is targeting a move to a club in one of Europe’s top five leagues—England, Spain, Germany, Italy, or France.

So far, Greek giants AEK Athens and Hungarian champions Ferencvárosi TC have submitted official bids, BolaNews has confirmed. Ferencvárosi’s offer is believed to be around €2.5 million, but Be’er Sheva are reportedly holding out for at least €7 million, confident that stronger offers will come in for one of their top performers.

Sources close to Kangwa’s management reveal that the midfielder is keen to test himself at a higher level, and is awaiting the right opportunity to make the next move in his European career.

Kangwa began his European journey in 2022, signing for Arsenal Tula from Zambia’s Buildcon FC. In February 2024, he joined Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade for €1.5 million, before being loaned out to Belgian side KV Kortrijk. He completed a permanent move to Hapoel Be’er Sheva in June 2024 for €800,000.
