Zambia is set to face Uganda in their second international friendly match of the month at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi tonight.

The Chipolopolo Boys suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Egypt on Thursday.

They will head into tonight’s game seeking redemption and high on confidence following their dominance over the Cranes of Uganda in recent years.

Uganda has not beaten Zambia since 1992.

Chipolopolo head coach Avram Grant told FAZ media that his target is to see the team improve in each game.

“Our target is to improve the team, the system that we want to play…… And continue to progress like we were before,” said Grant. “The team is improving a lot, and they are understanding each other; we want to be even better.”

The former Chelsea FC manager is happy with the way the team is shaping up ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.

Grant reveals his main target

He has said he will look to try other things as his team prepares for the World Cup qualifiers.

“It’s a friendly game, we want to win any game but this is not the main target [target], the main target is to try things new things and see the shape of the players because next month with have the qualifiers so we need to be at our best.”

When asked about giving game time to some of his players who have yet to play, Grant said all his players can play.

“Any player who is in the squad in the squad for me is a player that can play but we can only play with eleven,” he responded. “In this game two or three players that did not play will play, we want to see how they will fit in the team. ”

Zambia is preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers slated for November.
