Botswana – based Zambian coach Rueben Njavera has described the upcoming Four – Nations tournament as the best platform for interim Chipolopolo coach George Lwandamina to transfer his ideas to the team.
Njavera has told Bolanews in an interview that the appointment of Lwandamina and Osward Mutapa to the national team is a good fit and one that can bring smiles back on the faces of Zambians.
Lwandamina and Mutapa replaced Moses Sichone and Perry Mutapa, respectively.
“I think it is a good pair; looking at how both coaches are doing with their teams [clubs], it is a right pair and the [upcoming tournament] is the right platform,” Njavera said.
The tournament will feature Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Malawi and will be played between March 23 and 31.
“It will be a good test for Zambia…this is a chance for Lwandamina and crew to build a strong side that can compete in upcoming competitive games,” he said. “This is the time when Lwandamina and Osward have to build the team.”
He described Lwandamina and Mutapa as top coaches.
“I am happy with the players they have called; this is the chance the players have to expose their talents and fight for the badge so that we build the time around them, and the tournament comes on the right time for Lwandamina and the team.”
He called on the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to continue organising more friendly matches for the team.
