Following the expiry of his contract with Leicester City today, Zambian striker Patson Daka has once again been linked with a move to Spanish La Liga side Sevilla.
According to VamosMiSevillaFC.com, “sporting director José Ignacio Navarro has revived interest in Zambian international Patson Daka, whose contract with Leicester City expires today.”
The report follows Daka’s social media posts over the past two days, in which he shared photos from Spain, fuelling speculation over his next destination after becoming a free agent.
Leicester City confirmed last month that Daka would leave the club at the end of his contract.
The Chipolopolo striker departs after five years with the Foxes, having made 165 appearances, scored 29 goals and registered 18 assists since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in 2021.
During his time at the club, Daka won the Community Shield and helped Leicester secure promotion back to the Premier League by winning the English Championship title. He also leaves as Leicester City’s all-time leading scorer in European competitions with six goals.
Daka has been the subject of transfer speculation in recent months, with Spanish clubs Valencia CF and Sevilla reportedly monitoring his situation, while Turkish side Samsunspor has also emerged as a potential destination.
