Nkana coach Mwenya Chipepo has said goalkeeper Patrick Chooma has what it takes to flourish at the national team if given a chance.
Chooma, a former under-20 and 23 goalkeeper, received his senior team call – up last week and is part of the Chipolopolo side that is preparing to take on Tanzania in a World Cup qualifier tomorrow.
Chipepo told Bolanews in an interview that he is happy to see the player’s progression and described his call-up as deserved.
“He has done well, he has proved himself that he has what it takes to be a national team keeper so it is up to him to go and work hard at national level,” Chipepo said.
Chipepo said most people would love to see Chooma excel.
Meanwhile, in a separate interview, Chooma said he is happy with his call-up.
“It is good to be called to the national team, to represent your nations, that is good. it is just a matter for working extra hard,” he said.
