Chipolopolo winger Edward Chilufya scored a brace for BK Hackens, where he is on loan from Danish side FC Midtjylland.
Chilufya made his debut for the Swedish side in a league match against Halmstands BK on September 17 before starting in the team’s Europa Cup 4-0 loss to Germany’s Leverkusen on September 21, 2023.
Since then, he has made two consecutive starts in the Swedish Cup and League, scoring a goal and a brace, respectively, against Jonsered IF and AIK.
Reacting to his two goals yesterday, Chilufya posted on his Facebook page to celebrate.
He wrote, “Like I never left, 3 points in Sweden, my second home, is always a great feeling. Glad to be off the mark with a brace in last night’s game.”
Before joining Midtjylland, Chilufya started his European journey in 2017 with Djurgårdens IF U21 side, where he was later promoted to the senior team in 2018.
He scored 17 goals in 73 games with nine assists for the senior team across all competitions and won both the Swedish League and Cup.
With only five matches remaining before the conclusion of the Allsvenskan, Chilufya will be looking to help Hackens win the league as they sit third in the standings, 50 points below leaders Malmo FF and Effsborg, who are first and second with 52 and 51 points, respectively.
