Zambian international winger Lameck Banda scored his second goal in the Italian Serie A on Sunday against Bologna.
The US Lecce quick forward scored 17 minutes into the game when he slotted home from the center of the box with his right foot, thanks to Gabriel Strefezza’s assist.
His second goal of the season put Lecce in the lead at the break.
Banda resumed his stellar performance in the second stanza, but what was supposed to be his 90-minute shift was cut short.
He sustained an injury 10 minutes into the second half and was substituted.
Disaster struck immediately after his substitution, as Bologna came from behind to win the match 2-3.
Meanwhile, the severity of his injury has yet to be confirmed. His club has yet to give an update.
Zambian fans should be concerned since they are counting on him to help the Chipolopolo Boys qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Banda was named in the 29-member squad that will take on Ivory Coast on the 17th of June 2023 at the Levy Mwanansa Stadium.
