FC Muza, Zambia’s sole representative in the CAF Confederation Cup this season, will begin their campaign against Cano Sports Academy in the preliminary round this Saturday at the Estadio De Malabo Stadium.
Muza FC finished second in the Zambian Super League standings with 59 points, six points behind eventual champions Power Dynamos, who will represent the country in the CAF Champions League.
The Elegant Dynamites will be looking to make an impression in their CAF Confederations Cup debut.
Keith Mweemba, the club’s president, has urged the players to stay focused and aim for group-stage qualification.
He said they have what it takes to even win the interclub competition.
“The approach has always been positive about everything. There is always a first time for everything. The way we performed in the league is the same way we will perform in Continental football,” said Mweemba.
He added: “We will demonstrate it; we shall go to the group stages and aim to win it. We are in it to compete. We can’t fly all the way from Zambia to come and joke. Let’s take this game seriously and walk away with three points.”

Former Zambian international and CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup winner Rainford Kalaba also tipped MUZA to keep the cohesion in their team and they can win.
“If you look at this MUZA team, most of the players have been playing together for a while. So, if they can coordinate very well like we saw last season, they will go far,” Kalaba told BolaNews in an interview.
