Lindo Mkhonta, the captain of Zesco United FC, says the team is eager to punish their opponents on their home field even though they don’t know much about them.
On Saturday, September 20, Zesco United, the nine-time Zambian champions, will play FC 105 in the first leg of the 2025–26 CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round at Franceville Stadium.
Speaking to the club’s media, Mkonta asserted that there is a high level of morale in the camp.
“The morale in the team is very good; the spirit is very high with all the pushing they are doing. Everyone wants to participate in the game we are going to play. We know very well that it’s not going to be easy since we are playing away. We don’t know them; maybe they know something about us,” he said.
“Our focus is to go and play this game. We are more than ready; our coaches did their very best to prepare us for this game, so we are ready, and we are going to do our best. Where we are going it won’t be easy, we know that, but we are not going there to participate; we are going to win the game, and we are aiming high,” expressed the confident captain.

Zesco United’s 0-1 victory over Mufulira Wanderers in the Super League action last weekend gave them more confidence going into the game on Saturday.
Power Dynamos and Zesco United both need to perform well in this year’s CAF campaign in order for Zambia to regain four lost spots in continental football.
