Marcel Koller, the head coach of Al Ahly, has provided clarification over the future of South African player Percy Tau at the club.
Tau has six months left on his deal with the Egyptian giants, and there are suggestions that he may be going by the end of the current campaign.
The South African has been a key figure for the Egyptian side since joining them, but has been struggling of late for game time.
Koller, 64 insisted that Tau is still in his plans and will not be leaving the Club.
“South African Percy Tau is with us and is part of our future plans and we are only thinking about the match for now,” said the Coach.
Al Ahly will face CR Belouizdad in their Group C Champions League encounter and head coach Marcel Koller says the match will be a difficult one as their opponents will be playing at home.
“Chabab Belouizdad created many problems for us in the first half of the first leg and things will be different when we face them again, especially since they will be playing on their home ground and among their fans,”said the Coach.
“Belouizdad is a good team and plays good football and this was evident in it’s previous matches despite losing to us and to South African Orlando Pirates,”added the 64 year old coach.
Al Ahly beat CR Belouizdad during the first Leg of the Champions League and hope replicate the result, away from home. Al Ahly is topping the group with seven points, while Belouizdad side are third placed with three points only.
