Pasuwa, who was selected as the 2022 season's coach of the year, was not in the country to receive the award as he is on holiday in Zimbabwe.

Due to his impressive record of winning every season title with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets during the 2023 campaign, former Zimbabwean head coach Kallisto Pasuwa was voted Malawi’s coach of the season.

Since moving to Malawi in 2018, Pasuwa has won the league five times in a row. With the five trophies he won in the recently concluded 2023 season, Pasuwa set a record in Malawi that no foreign coach had previously accomplished.

These are TNM Super League, Castel Challenge Cup, Airtel Top 8 Cup, FDH Bank Cup and the Charity Shield—a second time to achieve that feat as a coach following his 2014 record when coaching Dynamos of Zimbabwe.

The accolade comes after the Malawian National Coaches Association announced last month that Pasuwa will receive recognition for his exceptional performance during Super league Malawi awards Gala night.

Association’s president Aubrey Nankhuni said Pasuwa has performed well, and he is an example to many and promoted football by nurturing a lot of young footballers.

“You look at his behavior, we have never seen him misbehaving or making bad comments to the media. He has changed the team tactically which makes him the best,” he said.
