Eleven top teams in Malawi have switched managers as the new season gets underway next month in an attempt to capture Malawi national championships.

Only four teams have kept their head coaches: the reigning champion FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Karonga United, Ekwendeni Hammers, and Kamuzu Barracks; Mafco FC, on the other hand, is about to hire a new coach following the departure of head coach Pritchard Mwansa.

Sports journalist Mwakhele Kaliande commented on the development, stating that she believes super league teams are under a lot of pressure, which is why changes have occurred.

“This is just the pressure but otherwise it is not all coaches who will deliver. Some of these teams needed to maintain coaches,” she said.

Last season, league runner-up Silver Strikers, whose contract was terminated owing to poor performance, brought in former Bullets player and assistant coach Peter Mponda to replace Dutch manager Pieter de Jongh.

Civil Sporting United have retained Abbas Makawa to replace Oscar Kaunda while Mighty Tigers will have Leo Mpulula as head coach from Silver Strikers reserve.

Bangwe All Stars has brought in Christopher Nyambose as head coach while Andrew Bunya takes charge of Dedza Dynamos with Chitipa United bringing in Mcnebert Kazuwa to replace Mtetemera.
