Caf Mourns Seven Chavuma Town Council FC Players Who Died in Tragic Accident

Dr. Motsepe has sent a message of condolences to the families of the seven Zambian players who died in a road traffic accident.

CAF has expressed condolences to the families of the seven Chavuma Town Council Football Club players killed in road accidents between Lukunyi and Ndondo areas in Zambezi district on Saturday.

The accident occurred after the driver of the Haice bus, which was carrying 19 team members, lost control and flipped, seriously injuring 12.

President Dr. Patrice Motsepe says the tragic news deeply saddens him.

“It is with profound sadness that I learned of the tragic road accident that claimed the lives and severely injured members of the Chavuma Town Council Football Club who were on their way to a North Western Province Division One League match.  

“I convey my personal and CAF’s deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased and the Football Association of Zambia. We hope and pray that those who were injured will fully recover soon. May God comfort and console the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased and the Football Association of  Zambia.”

The team was on its way to Mufumbwe to play Mufumbwe Marketeers in the FAZ Northwestern Province Division One League.
