Zambian female referee Diana Chikotesha has been chosen to officiate at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
Chikotesha is one of two female referees named, along with 28 assistant referees who will officiate at the finals.
Cameroonia’s Carine Atezambong is the other female assistant referee.
Chikotesha also officiated at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. She has been a regular feature at the CAF Women’s Champions League too.
The tournament is set to kick off on January 13, 2024, with Chipolopolo Boys making their return for the first time since 2015.

They will kick off their campaign against DR Congo on January 17 in San Pedro.
Zambia is also in the same group as Tanzania and Morocco.
