The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) terminated the contract of their national team head coach Milutin ‘MICHO’ Sredojevic on Thursday.
“FUFA and Mr. Milutin Sredojevic agreed to mutually end the existing employment contract between the two parties,” FUFA announced.
“FUFA appreciates all efforts and commitment by Mr. Milutin during his period as Head coach of Uganda Cranes.”
Micho has overseen 17 competitive games since taking over the Cranes in 2021. He had seven wins, five draws, and five losses.
The Serbian first took over as the Cranes’ head coach in 2013 and remained in charge until 2017. He helped Uganda qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 39 years.
He left Uganda after the AFCON tournament to join Orlando Pirates FC in South Africa. In 2019, he took over the Zambia National Team.
Micho’s second stint with the Cranes did not go swimmingly, and after failing to qualify for next year’s AFCON, he was shown the door.

Former Uganda international goalkeeper Dennis Onyango has since paid tribute to the Serbian.
The Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper, who announced his international retirement in 2021 wrote a message for the coach on Twitter.
“04/09/2016 will always be remembered for your great contribution to Ugandan football [Milutin Sredojevic], and as for me, you have been a father in my football career. Good luck, Coach,” Onyango posted.
Uganda has now failed to qualify for AFCON four times consecutively.
