Ghana’s Black Galaxies coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey believes South Africa are the favorites to win the Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco.

Bafana Bafana are placed in Group B and will battle it out with Angola, Egypt, and Zimbabwe.

South Africa played Black Galaxies—Ghana’s B team—in their final practice match before the tournament, beating them 1-0.

The veteran coach said, “Without taking anything from Bafana Bafana, they are a very good team.”

“Tactically, if you don’t strategize well, they will disgrace you. They are not a bad side at all. They are a very solid team, and I wish them all the luck,” the coach told SABC Sport.

“I rate Bafana Bafana as one of the contenders for AfCON. I have confidence in them that they are one of the contenders for the title,” he concluded.

South Africa will face Angola in their Group B opener on Monday, 22 December, before meeting Egypt and concluding with Zimbabwe.

Bafana Bafana will be looking to claim their second AfCON title after they last won it on home soil in 1996.
