Both the Flames and Lukuena are using the match to prepare for the AFCON qualifiers against Egypt and Zambia, respectively.

Nyamilandu said the match against Lesotho will give local players a chance to gain match fitness before their Saudi Arabian international camp.
“This will give a chance for the Flames to gain match fitness as well as enable the coach to select the final players that should proceed to face Egypt on March 24,” Nyamilandu said.
Meanwhile, Lesotho striker Motebang Sera is having a stellar season with Royal AM in the South African DSTV Premiership.

The striker who could be a threat to the Zambian defense has scored 4 goals in 11 games with one assist in just 7 starts for Royal AM in the current campaign.
Lesotho will face the Chipolopolo Boys on March 20th, 2023, at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola before hosting them on March 28th at Dobsonville Stadium in South Africa.
The Lukuena drew 0-0 against Ivory Coast who defeated Zambia 3-1 to top Group H with 4 points after match day two.
Zambia, on the other hand, managed to beat Comoros 2-1 at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka to sit second in the group with 3 points level with the Coelacanths, who got their only win so far in the qualifiers against Lesotho in a match that ended 2-0 in Moroni.
