While Power Dynamos appear to be running away with the league title, second-placed Zesco United coach Emmanuel Siwale says his side is still in the running for a league and cup double.
Siwale’s confidence is drawn from his side’s 2-0 win in the ABSA Cup over Konkola Blades at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on Saturday.
Abraham Siankombo and Lindo Mikhonta scored for Zesco to eliminate Blades and stream into the semi-final and keep the hope of a league and cup double alive.
“Anything is possible,” Siwale said, when asked about Zesco’s chance of a double. ” This is football no one knows what tomorrow will bring.”
Currently, Zesco is six points behind Power in the league with nine more points to fight for.
Meanwhile, Blades coach Beston Chambeshi is disappointed with the loss and elimination from the cup.
“Yes. I’m disappointed. Because when you’re knocked out of the tournament, it’s disappointing. But above all, we have learnt one or two things. I think when we go back to the league, I think we’ll do much better because this is was big game,” Chambeshi said.
