In a post-match interview, Red Arrows assistant coach Kalililo Kakonje praised the team for reaching te finals.

“For us it’s not been easy going against a team that By far this season has been the best team in the league, on the contrary we have experienced a season that we did not expect so it was I think a match that featured two sides almost opposite ends, one which is enjoying form and the other which is struggling in the League.

“This was a Cup game we obviously planned for it differently from a league game so we are only happy that whatever we planned and prepared for in this game we could see it and eventually it got us the win,” he added.

Kakonje pledged that the team would put up a strong battle to win the ABSA Cup again.

“We are looking to finish the season with a smile on our fan’s faces, Our sponsors’ faces and ourselves. The only thing that is there to make us smile is the ABSA. So, we will try to put in all we can to return the ABSA,” concluded Kakonje.

The 2025 ABSA Cup finals will pit Red Arrows against six-time winners and record holders Zesco United.
