ABSA Cup: Makwaza Eyes Final As Power Dynamos Face Mighty In Semi Clash

Power Dynamos first assistant coach, Linos Makwaza, Snr. expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness despite a demanding fixture schedule.

On Saturday, Power Dynamos FC will come face to face with Mufulira Wanderers in an kick off of the semi-final match of the 2026 ABSA Cup at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

The other semi final match will see Red Arrows take on Chirundu United at the same venue.

Speaking ahead of the encounter during a pre-match media briefing at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Friday, Power Dynamos first assistant coach, Linos Makwaza, Snr. expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness despite a demanding fixture schedule.

Makwaza revealed that careful squad rotation has been key to maintaining fitness levels.

“We have prepared well for Mufulira Wanderers. The games have been coming thick and fast, but we have managed the players properly,”

Makwaza is aware of the threats posed by the legendary side.

“Mufulira Wanderers are a very good and youthful side. We are not going to underrate them. We will approach the game with the seriousness it deserves,” he added.

His sentiment was echoed by team captain, Salulani Phiri.

“We want to go all the way by winning both the league and the ABSA Cup,” said Phiri.

Power Dynamos will face Mufulira Wanderers in Saturday’s early kickoff at 12:30hrs, with the winner securing a place in the 2026 ABSA Cup final.
