Ronaldo set for record 200th international app

The Portuguese superstar claims that records follow him as he prepares to reach yet another milestone tonight.

Portugal Captain Cristiano Ronaldo tonight will become the first Male Footballer to play 200 international matches if he features in the Euro 2024 qualifier away to Iceland.

Ronaldo, who made his international debut in 2003 and has won two major honors with Portugal as he led his country to the Euro 2016 and the UEFA Nations League.

At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Ronaldo became the first Male football player to score in five different World Cups.

He said that he is proud of reaching this extremely important milestone in his career.

“For me, it is an extremely important milestone,” he said during the press conference ahead of tonight’s game against Iceland. “It means a lot. Being the 200th game, I will be the first in history to do so. I’m very proud, for this is something I have thought I could not reach, but I have to keep going. I have much more to do.”

The 38-Year-old forward added that records motivate him to continue working hard and playing at the highest level.

“I don’t follow the records; they follow me. I’m happy, and it’s also my motivation to continue playing at the highest level on the national team. It was something I never thought I would achieve….. And I am continuing to set records,” he said.

Ronaldo leads men’s international football in goals with 122, and he has 14 in 16 league matches since joining Saudi pro-league team Al Nassr in January.
