Over the weekend, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) held its annual general meeting (AGM), where it was revealed that the new Kopa jersey will soon be unveiled.
Fans have urged FAZ to unveil the new national team kit, especially since the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is only three months away.
A number of countries that will be participating in the tournament have already unveiled their official kits.
However, FAZ President Andrew Kamanga announced at the AGM that the upgraded version of the Kopa Jersey will be available in the coming weeks.
“I am proud to announce that we will be launching the upgraded version of the Kopa Jersey in the next few weeks,” Kamanga said.
Kamanga added that FAZ is proud of Kopa, which has been fully embraced by the Zambian public since 2018.
“We are proud of the initiative that has been fully embraced by the Zambian public. With the upgraded Kopa strip we expect that the public will continue to be the greatest ambassadors of the brand.”
Kopa fetches over K2m for FAZ
Kamanga also revealed that the Kopa brand has contributed to FAZ posting a surplus of over nine million Kwacha.
“We posted a surplus of nine million, forty-one thousand, five hundred and fifty thousand one kwacha…… Part of the revenue was generated from the sale of Kopa replicas which fetched k2,700, 779.”
The new Kopa Jersey is expected to be used at the Women’s World Cup where Zambia will make its debut. The competition will begin on July 20th, 2023, and will end on August 20th, 2023.

The Copper Queens are in Group C alongside Spain, Costa Rica, and Japan.
Meanwhile, Kamanga further revealed that the Chipolopolo Boys will also don the upgraded Kopa jersey in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
