Here is everything you need to know about the 2023 CHAN tournament semifinals, including betting tips and odds from the experts.
ALGERIA VS NIGER
A place in the final of the African Nations Championship will be up for grabs when Algeria take on Niger in the semi-final today.
Algeria defeated Ivory Coast 1-0 at the Nelson Mandela Stadium on Friday to book a spot in the semifinals. With the support of their home fans, the Desert Foxes have already eclipsed their best-ever CHAN finish and will be hoping to advance to the final for the first time tonight.
On the other hand, Niger booked their place in the semi-finals after an impressive 2-0 victory over Ghana.
Currently, on a run of three straight clean sheets for the first time in over two years, Niger will be hoping to continue with this record tonight.
According to their head-to-head matches dating back to May 1,198, Algeria has dominated with seven wins, while Niger only has one win with no draws.
BETTING TIP: Double Chance for either team to win with 2-3 goals in the match.
SENEGAL VS MADAGASCAR
The other semifinal matchup will feature a contest between Senegal and Madagascar. On Friday, the Lions of Teranga defeated Mauritania by a narrow 1-0 victory. Senegal has thus far in the competition won three of its four games.
The Pape Thiaw-coached side didn’t go to the final on their previous outing, but despite being eliminated at the semi-final stage, they now stand a solid chance of doing so this time.
Madagascar is coming off a commanding 3-1 victory on Saturday at Mohammed Hamlaoui Stadium.
The team led by Romuald Rakotondrabe is 90 minutes away from earning a spot in their first final.
But doing so against one of the tournament favourites won’t be simple. Madagascar will rely on Solom Raza, who has so far scored three goals. Razafindrakoto and Marcio Ravelomananantsoa are two other players who are anticipated to motivate the team.
Since November 13, 2015, the two sides have played each other four times, and Senegal has won twice while the other two games have ended in draws, with Madagascar not winning any of the encounters.
