Lwandamina not given an ultimatum, exco says Kabwe Warriors will soon start producing results

Zambian Super League side Kabwe Warriors football club has continued struggling this season with back-to-back poor results having not recorded a single win in their last 8 matches.

Out of 11 games played so far, they have only managed to win one game, drawn six and lost four times, placing them in 17th position and deep in the relegation zone with 9 points.

This has triggered mixed reactions from fans who majority of them have been calling for the sacking of the club’s head coach George Chicken Lwandamina.

The club’s executive committee yesterday convened for an emergency meeting in Kabwe and resolved to send first Assistant coach Humphrey Malikoni and physical trainer Derrick Mwansa on administrative leave with immediate effect as part of their steps towards finding a solution for the struggling Warriors.

However, social media was on Wednesday morning awash with reports that Lwandamina has been given a two-match ultimatum to produce positive results or get sacked but the club has refuted the reports.

Club chairman Mutale Ng’andu has disclosed exclusively to BolaNews that the reports are false and that no ultimatum has been given to the coach.

“There is no ultimatum,” he said. “We are still assessing the situation and a solution will be arrived at in due time. Treat anything that is being said as mere social media speculations, coach Lwandamina is still coach for Kabwe Warriors and no ultimatum has been given to him.”

The Chairman however confirmed that both the first assistant coach and physical trainer have indeed been sent on administrative until further notice and that the exco is confident the club will soon start producing positive results.

Lwandamina is now expected to be in charge of Kabwe Warriors for their next two home games against Muza Fc and Buildcon next week Wednesday and it remains to be seen what the next course of action by the club will be especially after the two matches.
