Konkola Blades forward Biston Banda has reacted to scoring his first goal of the season as Konkola Blades beat Makeni All Stars on Sunday in a Week 6 Stream A MTN transitional super league fixture.
Banda has made an impressive start to life at Konkola Blades, contributing to the team’s early-season performances in the MTN Super League Transitional League Stream A.
He has one goal and three assists in five matches.
In an interview, Banda says he has settled well at the Chililabombwe-based club following his move from FC MUZA, crediting his teammates for making his adaptation easier.
The forward helped the side record victories over defending champions Power Dynamos and Zanaco Football Club before they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club.
Banda has also emerged as the league’s leading assist provider, registering three assists in as many matches.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Bola News, Banda expressed gratitude for the warm reception he has received since joining the club.
“They have been so good. I am grateful to God, and my teammates have made it easy for me to adapt,” he said.
The forward added that morale remains high within the squad, with the players confident they can challenge for the league title if they remain united and work collectively.

“The mood is high. We are confident and pushing to win the league by God’s grace. Obviously, we have the quality to do so, only if we unite and work together as a team,” Banda said.
He attributed the team’s performances to the work put in during training, emphasizing that hard work and a collective desire to contribute are essential to securing maximum points.
“It is through what we do during the week in training and working hard, wanting to contribute to the team so that we get maximum points,” he said.
On the goal, he described it as long-awaited joy that came through hard work.
“It’s something I have been working on for a while, and it finally came. But the goal is to help the team with a win,” he said.
