Hamburg have confirmed that Zambia striker Patson Daka will be sidelined for the coming weeks after suffering a thigh muscle tear while on international duty.
The club revealed that an MRI scan conducted at the Athleticum at Volkspark confirmed a torn muscle fibre in Daka’s left thigh.
“Patson Daka has returned from the Zambian national team with an injury,” Hamburg announced. “Detailed MRI scans conducted at the Athleticum at Volkspark have now revealed the precise diagnosis: the Zambian has suffered a torn muscle fibre in his left thigh and will be sidelined for the coming weeks.”

The injury is expected to keep the Zambian forward out of action for several weeks as he begins his recovery.
Daka featured for 46 minutes in Zambia’s 3-1 defeat to Algeria in their opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier before missing the matchday squad for the 2-0 victory over Togo.
Albert Kangwanda and Eliya Mandanji scored in the win as the Chipolopolo Boys bounced back from their opening defeat.
