Charles Haluboono, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club head coach has praised Malawi international Sarah Mulimbika and revealed his ambition to use the forward’s experience to help the team challenge for club honors.
Mulimbika won silver at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The Scorchers lost 3-0 to Cameroon.
Haluboono told Bola News that preparations for the new season are progressing well, with the squad now complete.
“The preparations are going well. We have a complete team now,” Haluboono said.
The coach also expressed pride in Mulimbika and the Malawi Women’s National Team following their impressive showing at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and historic qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“We are proud of Sarah Mulimbika and the Malawi Women’s National Team. We congratulate them for the good performance at WAFCON and for qualifying to the World Cup,” he said.
Haluboono believes Malawi’s success will provide additional motivation for Mulimbika as she returns to club football.
“It’s motivating her to come and help us with the league and, God willing, to win it,” he added.
The Green Buffaloes coach, said the team is focused on developing players capable of representing Zambia at the international level.
“This goes to all players. In fact, our plans are to produce national team quality players,” Haluboono said.
