Rodwell Mulungushi, Green Eagles goalkeeper, has opened up on what advice he received from 2012 AfCON winner, ex-Chipolopolo boys’ goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene.
Green Eagles had their pre-season training camp in South Africa in preparation for the upcoming 2026 transitional league.
While in South Africa, the Eagles played a series of friendly matches against teams such as Mamelodi Sundowns, Gomora United, and Power Dynamos to fine-tune ahead of the new season.
The Choma-based side will compete in stream B of the 2026 Transition League, which will run from September to January 2027.
The Perry Mutapa-coached side will be hoping to maintain their fine form in the upcoming league.
However, speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Mulungushi revealed Mweene’s advice.
“Working hard and consistency are key if you are to strive as a good goalkeeper. Continue working hard; you are a talented goalkeeper, and there is still room for improvement,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mulungushi also indicated that his main target is to help the team win the league.
“My target is to win the league and keep as many clean sheets as possible because the league is short, so we need to concede fewer goals,” he added.
Green Eagles will open their campaign with a fixture against Mighty Mufulira Wanderers away from home.
