Last Saturday, Roan United sealed promotion to Zambia Premier League after a 5-1 victory over Forest Rangers, moving to 64 points at the top of the National League table, level with second-placed Trident FC after 33 matches.
A win in their final fixture against Kafue Celtic will confirm them as league champions.
Noah Chivuta, has congratulated his former club Roan United on securing promotion, describing the achievement as a return of a historic team to its rightful place.
Speaking in an interview, Chivuta, said he had closely followed the club’s progress, particularly in the second round of the season.
“I was very excited in the last game. It just made me feel good because that’s a team with a big name and produced many players to be back again in the Zambian Premier League. That’s where teams with history belong,” he said.
Chivuta praised head coach Satchmo Chakawa for building a competitive squad despite limited resources.
“He has created a positive winning mentality. Starting from the play-offs to now getting promotion, it’s a big achievement,” he said.
However, the former midfielder urged the club’s management to support the technical bench as they prepare for life in the top flight.
“They must empower the coach and be patient because it will be a different league. They also need strong sponsorship to attract quality players,” he added.

Chivuta acknowledged that squad changes may be inevitable but stressed that adequate investment would be key to sustaining their Super League status.
He also welcomed the prospect of top-flight football returning to Kafubu Stadium, saying it would allow fans to once again watch elite teams in Luanshya.
