Chelsea football club and African legend Didier Drogba took to social media to express his excitement after former Arsenal and Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was unveiled as the new signing for the west London Premier League side last night.
In a tweet this morning, Didier Drogba who scored a record 104 goals and provided 64 assists in 254 English Premier league games during his time at Chelsea, said he is happy to see Aubameyang joining the blues and that they talked about it a year ago.
Drogba is also the third highest African goal scorer in the Premier League below Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane who scored 120 and 111 goals each respectively.
Chelsea completed the signing of the former Arsenal striker from Barcelona for £10m to Barcelona plus Alonso.
The Gabonese international flew to the UK on Thursday afternoon for his medical. His deal was completed after the 11 pm deadline of the summer transfer window and he was immediately unveiled.
Aubameyang moved to Barcelona on a free transfer from Arsenal in January and will return to the Premier League having already scored 68 goals in 128 games when he was with the gunners and will look to add on to his tally with Chelsea.
It will also be the second time Aubameyang will be playing under Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel.
The two once worked together at Borussia Dortmund where Aubameyang scored 79 goals in two seasons.
