Atletico Lusaka Football Club head coach Brian Kunsanama hopes to collect three points against Green Buffaloes in Saturday’s MTN Super League Week 5 match.
Green Buffaloes are in third place with seven points, while Atletico Lusaka is 12th with 5 points.
On the first day of the Super League, the Bad Boys won once, drew twice, and lost one.
Kunsanama has revealed that his team is aiming for maximum points.
“The boys are looking sharp; we have had enough rest,” Kunsanama said. “It is a competition, so we need to go there with the aim of winning it; it doesn’t matter who we face on a particular day.”
He added, “Yes, the respect given to the Green Buffaloes; I know they also want to win, and we also want to win it. It is a competition; we will give our best; I think the boys are ready for it; let’s see how it goes on matchday.”
The Week 5 match had initially been set for Sunset Stadium but has been moved to Edwin Imboela Stadium, with the kickoff time changed from 13:00 to 15:00.
Atletico coach not moved by change of venue
The coach has ruled out the possibility that the pitch will decide the outcome of the game, stating that he is familiar with the various pitches in Zambian football.
“In our Zambian setup, it is not every day that you play on a pitch like Nkoloma or Arthur Davies, so we have to be ready for these conditions, so come Saturday we just have to adjust and put in the best performance that we can. We’ll prepare for this game as any other game; I don’t want the pitch to be an area that will affect our plan,” Kunsanama said.
Kunsanama further noted that the team has been creating scoring chances that have not been converted and promises to work on the scoring technique.
“The most important thing is creating the chances, so if as a team we are creating those chances, eventually we will start scoring; it is the area of technique; we just have to work on that area. Hopefully we will improve on it in the coming game; I know the boys want to score goals as they can,” he said.
