Two of Atletico Lusaka’s youngsters, Joseph Liteta (18) and Timothy Sichalwe (19), have arrived in Italy for trials at Cagliari Calcio. The club will assess them during the preseason, and we hope they impress.

BolaNews has established that the two players left the country and are already in Cagliria for assessments by the Serie A club.

Cagliari’s relationship with Atletico Lusaka continues following the successful signing of Kingston Mutandwa, who has progressed from the club’s youth team to the first team and has already made his Serie A debut.

Atletico Lusaka posted a picture of the two players with Mutandwa captioned, “Good luck and work hard, all of you.”

Mutandwa made his debut in the Italian Serie A for Cagliari Calcio FC in Empoli 1-0 last season.

He made history by becoming only the second Zambian player to score in the Italian Serie A, giving Cagliari a 2-1 lead in the 85th minute, just seven minutes after coming off the bench against Fiorentina the previous season.

The 21-year-old was a standout player for Atletico Lusaka in the National Division One League, scoring 16 goals in 22 games and earning a move to Italy where he has signed a contract until 2027 with Cagliari following his successful trials.

Liteta and Sichalwe will hope to impress during their trials and earn professional contracts with the Italian club.
