South Africa’s Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is fantasizing about winning the Africa Cup of Nations for the second time, having guided Cameroon to their fifth title in 2017.

Broos stated during a press conference at Korhogo’s Stade, Amadou Gon Coulibaly, on Monday afternoon that winning the AFCON is a fantastic feeling that one would want to experience more than once.

“It’s the feeling I had six years ago with Cameroon. Nobody saw Cameroon as a favourite” he said.

Broos continued: “When you win it once, you want to win it twice. It’s a fantastic feeling winning the AFCON. I have said it before that I am European but the intensity and the joy and everything around winning an AFCON is unique. It’s really unique so it was fantastic experience six years ago and you can be sure that I dream to do it for the second time.”

Broos anticipates a difficult match against the Eagles. He stated that achieving his dream of winning the title again will not be easy with Bafana Bafana.

“Saying it is much easier than doing it,” he said. “So let us start tomorrow [tonight] and let us do our best to see where we will arrive” concluded the coach.

South Africa is in Group E alongside Tunisia, Namibia and Mali.
